ONINI Health Safety Guidelines FAQ

Last Updated: 2/13/2026

At ONINI, the health and safety of our community remain our top priority. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented updated safety guidelines for all rides. These measures are designed to protect both drivers and passengers.

Please review the following frequently asked questions to understand our new procedures.

 1. What are the new health safety guidelines for my ONINI ride?
To ensure a safe environment for everyone, all ONINI drivers and passengers must follow these three core guidelines:
Stay Home if Sick: Anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, is experiencing related symptoms, or has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 must stay home and not take or give rides.
Wear a Face Covering: All drivers and passengers must wear a proper face covering (mask) for the duration of the trip.
Maintain Vehicle Safety: To promote air flow and physical distance, the front seat must remain empty, and you should roll the windows down whenever possible during the ride.

 2. What if I have COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed?
Your health and the health of others is the priority. If you are feeling unwell, have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone who has, you must cancel your ride and stay home. You should only request or give a ride when you are feeling healthy and symptom-free.

3. Why do I have to wear a face covering?
Face coverings are a proven way to reduce the spread of respiratory droplets, helping to protect both the driver and the passenger. This requirement is mandatory for the entire duration of the trip. If you do not have a mask, please acquire one before your ride.

 4. Why does the front seat have to be empty? Why do we need to open windows?
Keeping the front seat empty helps maintain a safe physical distance between the driver and passenger(s). Rolling down the windows, weather permitting, significantly increases air circulation within the vehicle, which is another key factor in reducing potential virus transmission.

 5. What happens if a driver or passenger refuses to follow these guidelines?
These guidelines are mandatory. Any driver or passenger who repeatedly violates these new health and safety rules will be suspended from the ONINI platform. We rely on our community to respect these rules for the safety of all.

 6. What should I do if I have a safety concern during a ride?
If you feel unsafe at any point—for example, if the driver is not wearing a mask—you have the right to cancel the ride. ONINI will not charge you a cancellation fee for canceling a trip due to a valid health and safety concern.

 7. Can a driver cancel a ride if they feel unsafe?
Yes.
Just as passengers can cancel for safety reasons, drivers also have the right to cancel a ride without penalty if they have a health safety concern. For instance, if a passenger arrives for the trip without a face covering, the driver can cancel the ride and will not incur a fee.

8. I was charged a fee for canceling a ride due to a safety issue. What do I do?
If you believe you were incorrectly charged a cancellation fee for a valid health and safety reason (such as the other party not wearing a mask), please contact ONINI Support through the app or website. We will review your trip report and refund the fee if appropriate.
